HOW TO USE THE QUERY INDEX WITH DATA GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION

Five case problems are presented in this section. Functionalities relative to the use of the query index and graphics are employed at least once in this section. It is strongly advised that the user adopt a step-by-step approach while interrogating the databases as proposed in the tutorial. Essentially, the user should activate the Execute button after entering a specification (value or selection). Multi_R_Designer is designed in such a way that a double action (i.e. application of two specifications) followed by Execute may strongly result in an empty search. After each execution, Multi_R_Designer reassess the available information based on the data sets fulfilling the executed specifications. If in any case, empty search results occur, the Reset button can be used to deactivate all specifications in the query.  It enables the user to start a new query.

Here is a statement overview of the case problems elaborated in this section.

CASE PROBLEM I: Total pressure drop with specifications on operating conditions
CASE PROBLEM II: Graphical representation of total pressure drop data
CASE PROBLEM III: Total liquid hold-up with specifications on the packing and column characteristics
CASE PROBLEM IV: Local liquid-side mass transfer coefficient (k La) expectations in function of liquid viscosity, liquid flow rate and flow regime for cases involving physical absorption
CASE PROBLEM V: Wall heat transfer coefficient expectations with specifications on the liquid flow rate and liquid viscosity
